Intellectual Property Policy
Last updated: 26 June 2026
This Intellectual Property Policy explains how intellectual property rights apply to Patternata, including
our platform, motif libraries, digital assets, design tools, user-uploaded artwork, finished designs and
custom products.
Patternata is operated by Creative Boutique Limited, a company registered in England and Wales.
Email: info@patternata.com
This policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions, Commercial Use & Motif Licence
Policy, Digital Product Policy, Subscription Terms and Privacy Policy.
1. Purpose of this policy
Patternata is a creative design platform. Intellectual property rights are central to how the platform
works.
This policy explains: what Patternata owns; what users own; how uploaded artwork is treated; how
Patternata motif libraries may be used; what rights users have in finished designs; what users must
not copy, extract, resell or redistribute; how third-party intellectual property should be handled; how
suspected infringement can be reported.
2. Patternata intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, all intellectual property rights in Patternata belong to Creative Boutique
Limited, Patternata, our licensors or our suppliers.
This includes rights in: the Patternata name; Patternata branding; logos; website design; app design;
interface design; software; code; design tools; motif libraries; digital assets; templates; artwork
collections; backgrounds; textures; brushes; product descriptions; written content; tutorials; images;
videos; marketing materials; layout, structure and visual presentation of the platform.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, scrape, extract, distribute, sell, licence, imitate or exploit
Patternata intellectual property except as expressly permitted by our terms and policies.
3. Patternata motif libraries and digital assets
Patternata motif libraries, premium collections, free collections, templates, digital downloads and other
creative assets are protected by intellectual property rights.
Access to these assets is provided under licence.
You may use Patternata assets to create finished designs, subject to our Commercial Use & Motif
Licence Policy.
You do not acquire ownership of the underlying Patternata motifs, libraries, files or assets.
You must not: resell Patternata motifs as standalone files; redistribute Patternata digital assets;
upload Patternata motifs to asset marketplaces; include Patternata assets in clip art packs, SVG
packs, PNG bundles, digital papers or downloadable design collections; extract motifs for separate
use outside the permitted licence; use Patternata assets to create competing motif libraries, design
tools or pattern generators; claim Patternata motifs or assets as your own standalone original artwork.
4. User-uploaded artwork
You retain ownership of artwork, images or other content that you upload to Patternata, provided you
own that content or have the right to use it.
By uploading content to Patternata, you confirm that: you own the content or have appropriate
permission to use it; the content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights; the
content does not breach any law, contract or platform terms; you have the right to use the content for
your intended personal or commercial purpose.
Patternata does not claim ownership of your original uploaded artwork.
However, by uploading content, you grant Patternata a limited licence to store, process, display,
preview, render, export, transmit and otherwise use that content as necessary to provide the
Patternata services.
This licence is limited to operating the platform and providing services such as: design previews;
saved projects; exports; digital file processing; custom printing; fulfilment; account functionality;
technical support; troubleshooting.
5. Finished designs created in Patternata
A finished design means a completed pattern, placement artwork, scarf design, fabric layout or other
final composition created by a user using Patternata.
A finished design may include: user-uploaded artwork; Patternata motifs; Patternata templates;
selected colours; repeat settings; scale choices; arrangement and layout; other creative decisions
made by the user.
Subject to our Commercial Use & Motif Licence Policy, you may use finished designs for personal
and commercial purposes.
However, ownership of a finished design does not give you ownership of the underlying Patternata
motifs, templates, software, tools or assets used to create it.
6. Commercial use of finished designs
Users may use finished designs commercially where permitted under our Commercial Use & Motif
Licence Policy and any applicable subscription or product terms.
Permitted commercial uses may include: printed fabrics; scarves; clothing; accessories; stationery;
packaging; homeware; print-on-demand products; product mockups; client presentations; marketing
materials; finished physical products.
Commercial use must involve a finished design or finished product, not resale or redistribution of
Patternata assets as standalone digital resources.
7. No transfer of Patternata ownership
Nothing in this policy transfers ownership of Patternata intellectual property to you. Your use of
Patternata does not give you ownership of: Patternata software; Patternata code; Patternata interface;
Patternata branding; Patternata logos; Patternata motif libraries; Patternata digital downloads;
Patternata templates; Patternata design tools; Patternata written or visual content.
Any rights not expressly granted are reserved.
8. Third-party intellectual property
You must not upload, copy, recreate, imitate or use third-party intellectual property without appropriate
permission.
This includes: copyrighted artwork; textile designs; fashion prints; brand logos; trademarks;
characters; celebrity images; photographs; illustrations; fonts; licensed graphics; marketplace assets;
AI-generated outputs where you do not have suitable usage rights; designs copied from other artists
or brands.
You are responsible for checking that any content you upload or use in Patternata is lawful and
properly licensed.
Patternata is not responsible for user-uploaded content that infringes third-party rights.
9. Fonts, stock assets and third-party materials
If you upload or use third-party fonts, stock images, clip art, AI-generated assets or purchased design
resources in Patternata, you are responsible for ensuring that your licence allows your intended use.
This includes checking whether the licence permits: commercial use; print-on-demand use; textile
printing; resale on finished products; use in client work; modification; international distribution; digital
export; sublicensing or transfer.
Patternata does not verify third-party licences supplied by users.
10. AI-generated artwork
If you upload AI-generated artwork to Patternata, you are responsible for ensuring that you have the
right to use it. You should check the terms of the AI tool or platform used to create the artwork.
You must not upload AI-generated content that infringes third-party rights, imitates protected artwork
unlawfully, misuses trademarks, or breaches the terms of the AI platform used.
Patternata may restrict, remove or refuse content where we reasonably believe it creates legal,
reputational or intellectual property risk.
11. Client work
If you use Patternata for client work, you are responsible for ensuring that the client understands the
licence limits. You may provide clients with finished designs, flattened artwork, production-ready files
or finished products where permitted. You must not transfer to clients: Patternata motif files;
Patternata digital asset packs; extracted Patternata motifs; editable files exposing Patternata assets
as standalone reusable elements; your Patternata account access; rights beyond those granted under
Patternata’s policies.
If a client needs direct access to Patternata assets, they must obtain their own account, subscription
or licence.
12. Editable files and layered files
You should not share editable or layered files in a way that allows Patternata motifs or digital assets to
be extracted and reused separately.
Where files are supplied to clients, manufacturers, printers or marketplaces, they should generally be
flattened or prepared so that Patternata assets are not exposed as standalone reusable elements.
This does not prevent you from supplying properly prepared production-ready files for permitted
finished products.
13. Patternata branding
You may not use the Patternata name, logo, branding, trade marks, product names, domain names,
social media handles or visual identity without our written permission.
You must not: imply endorsement by Patternata without permission; present yourself as Patternata or
an authorised representative; register confusingly similar names, domains or social media handles;
use Patternata branding in a misleading way; use Patternata branding in connection with
unauthorised products or services.
You may refer to Patternata factually, for example to state that a finished design was created using
Patternata, provided the reference is accurate and not misleading.
14. Feedback and suggestions
If you provide feedback, suggestions, ideas, feature requests or improvement proposals to Patternata,
you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation.
This may include using feedback to improve: features; design tools; interface; motif libraries;
subscription offerings; policies; user experience; marketing or support materials.
This does not affect ownership of your uploaded artwork or finished designs.
15. Infringement by users
If we reasonably believe that user content, uploaded artwork or finished designs infringe intellectual
property rights, we may: remove or disable access to the content; suspend exports; refuse production
or fulfilment; cancel an order; suspend or terminate an account; contact the user for further
information; cooperate with rights holders, platforms or authorities where appropriate.
We are not required to print, host, distribute or support content that we reasonably believe may
infringe third-party rights.
16. Reporting intellectual property infringement
If you believe that content on Patternata infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us
at:
Email: info@patternata.com
Please include: your name and contact details; details of the work or rights you claim are infringed; a
link, screenshot or description of the content concerned; evidence of ownership or authority to act for
the rights holder; a statement explaining why you believe the content is infringing; any relevant
supporting documents.
We may request further information before taking action.

redistributed or misused on another platform, please contact us at:
Email: info@patternata.com
Please include: the suspected infringing link; screenshots where available; seller or account details;
platform name; relevant Patternata collection or asset details; any other information that may assist
our review.
18. Repeat infringement
We may suspend or terminate accounts involved in repeated or serious intellectual property
infringement.
We may also refuse future access, purchases, subscriptions or orders where there is a history of
infringement, misuse or breach of licence terms.
19. Relationship with other policies
This policy forms part of our wider Patternata terms and should be read together with:
ï‚· Terms & Conditions;
ï‚· Commercial Use & Motif Licence Policy;
ï‚· Digital Product Policy;

We may update this Intellectual Property Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted
on our website with a revised “last updated” date. Continued use of Patternata after the updated
policy is posted means you acknowledge the updated policy.

phone numbers; signatures; photographs of identifiable people; personal documents; private
correspondence; confidential business information; sensitive personal information.
If you upload personal data relating to another person, you are responsible for ensuring that you have
a lawful basis or permission to do so.
The ICO states that data protection by design and default involves considering privacy and data

believe that the content: breaches this policy; infringes intellectual property rights; is unlawful; is
fraudulent; is harmful or abusive; creates legal or reputational risk; cannot be technically produced;
breaches the requirements of our production partners or fulfilment providers.

Patternata is not required to monitor all user uploads, designs, files or activity before they are created
or submitted.
However, we may review content or activity where we consider it appropriate, including in response to
complaints, suspected breaches, legal requests, technical issues or production requirements.
19. Relationship with other policies
This policy forms part of our wider Patternata terms and should be read together with:
ï‚· Terms & Conditions;
ï‚· Commercial Use & Motif Licence Policy;
ï‚· Intellectual Property Policy;
ï‚· Digital Product Policy;
ï‚· Subscription Terms;
ï‚· Privacy Policy;
ï‚· Returns & Refunds Policy.
If a specific feature, product, collection or business arrangement has additional written terms, those
terms will also apply.

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. The updated
version will be posted on our website with a revised “last updated” date. Continued use of Patternata
